Shropshire started off with a 2-2 draw with Staffs. Having had the better of the first half Shropshire were perhaps lucky to come out with a draw as Staffs pressed for the winner towards the end of the game. The Shropshire goals came from Sam Mee and Simon Taylor.

The second game was an encounter against Worcestershire that ended scoreless last year. This year Shropshire took the game relatively easily, winning 4-0 with goals from Phil Bailey, Mark Siddorn, Dave Tracey and Simon Taylor. 

To win the event Shropshire needed a win in their last game against Warwickshire and to hope that Worcester would hold out against Staffs. In the end it wasn't to be as Staffs ran out 9-1 winners and Shropshire lost 3-2 to Warwickshire, their two goals coming from Dave Tracey and Liam Hennessey.
