In the B Division finals Shropshire fell at the final hurdle, having soundly beaten Devon in the semi-final. But in the final they couldn't match a strong Worcestershire team. For a full report see the Shropshire Star article.

| County Championships 8-9 May 2004 Shaking off the disappointment of dropping out of the A division last year Shropshire's Men stormed through Pool 5 of the B division at North Shields. They started off on Saturday with solid 3-1 victories over Cumbria and Northumberland and turned on the power on Sunday with a 13-3 demolition of Army and a 10-3 defeat of Leicestershire. Assured of a place back in the A division for next season they now go on to the B division finals on Saturday 22 May at Chelmsford HC. Their opponents will be Wiltshire, Worcestershire, the other two pool winners, and Devon, the second placed team with the best record in the three pools.
The 18 man squad was:- Lez Evans, Simon Such, Peter Evans, Alex Johnson (all Bridgnorth), David Hughes (Ludlow), Robin Perrie, Steven Kay (both Whitchurch), Matt Harrison, Chris Heath, Steve Rivett, Jon Davies, Neal Dolphin, Mark Glover, Andy Lloyd, Matt Sillence (all Shrewsbury), Sunny Sahota (Telford), Mark Siddorn (Oswestry) and Tom Fisher (Bournville). Manager is Andy Mitchell and coach Steve Floyd.
| The squad had earlier rounded off their build up to the tournament with a 3-2 win over a Cannock XI at Wrekin College on 27 April (report in Shropshire Star) and a 4-2 win over a scratch North Wales XI at Whitchurch on 4 May.
