Chairman's Welcome 2006

This is the sixth season since the amalgamation of the ladies and men’s associations and if you compare the first handbook that we produced to mark that event, with the situation today, it is very encouraging to reflect on the progress made. There is very much more hockey taking place in the county and to a much higher standard. Equally encouraging is the stability of the committee and we are fortunate to have such a talented committee to lead these developments.

I hope our aims for the coming season will include:

	More clubs achieving Clubs 1st
	Men’s and Ladies county teams improving on their excellent performances last year.
	The appointment of a replacement for Linda van Breda, who was our excellent Hockey Development Officer.
	A Shropshire men’s club in the National League
	The development of the Shropshire Academy
	Continued support for all clubs in the county as they attempt to develop players, coaches, umpires and facilities.
	County Youth teams achieving their potential in Midlands competitions.

I wish all clubs a happy and successful season.
